Hmm.. Yeah, I’m fine !!!

Its the season of Monsoon. Its time of rains, The Romantic drizzles and long walks. Its time of Bhajias with Tea. Its time of bunks in the classes. Well .. Not exactly. The rains have been rather too untimely or i should say as a Surprise package. Tormenting most of the times and keeping us pleading in the rest. The walks and Bhajia’s are not a part Reality such. Its only in Non fiction. ;)

The season of Fests has arrived in the college and so have the exams down poured. As if the last one wasn’t enough for my abysmal performa, this one promises to bring in more challenges. Apart from these hiccups, the one thats quite worrying is that Navratri starts from tonight and we aren’t getting into the groove this year !!!!! I wish not to show my disappointment further.

Hmm.. Ya I'm fine..
Hmm.. Ya I

But today’s topic revolves around the latest buzz. Every seventh person i see or talk to has fallen a prey to the tricks of Hygieia. Well i mean so many people around are getting sick. I remember my mother telling me on every other call to take care of food and health. The strange thing is you realise its true when either you or some dear one makes the Medicines a best friend. Well I got to know the other day i was having some junk in the canteen that Shivani had just procured Chicken Pox. I thought, Hmm.. wait a minute, “Sure !? I mean that’s .. Shock..  “. She said,”You think its a Joke ?”. Then sometime later after I had some insight into what happened, I realized what once someone said about keeping your surroundings clean and taking care of the diet. And i said in my mind, “Hmm.. Is it fine? :)

Back at home during the weekend, it was kind of funny when also saw my Papa(Grandfather) having viral and listening to the whole vocab of Maa(Grandmother), which he normally allows to transmit through the ears to and fro with an efficiency of 100%. It was still awkward eating street sold food. Hmm.. Yeah, Its fine !!

Coming back to college i came to know that Sharmin too had been a guest to the doctor from a day due to one of our most vivid, agile and multipersonality companion MOSQUITO. She was down with Malaria and almost half the College had asked her health. Lolz… This had honestly created quite a buzz. Seventh Day Adventist hospital has now officially become a place where no. of SVNIT visitors are highest than any !! One more hangout place in the list of few illustrated places in Surat. Hmm.. Yeah, that’s fine !!

As the day passes Papa and both my friends are by God’s grace recovering quickly. I wish them good Health as well. But the panic of the season and health care has got into the minds of all. Someone came to my room and told last night, “Hey please tell them to do Fogging !! Who knows machchar ki Jaat ka.. ?!! “.While some including myself are taking care to take proper bath and wear pants in place of normal shorts and boxers, i wonder the Hostel Office to come up another seminar on Health care and the Hon. College authorities putting up strict rules for students like the walkers. Its quite a possibility till the season becomes awry but till then we have no option but to say, “Hmm… Yeah I’m FINE !!

It goes on something like this…

Friends n Canteen

Friends

Its something sort of strange to narrate a daily experiance of an SVNIT’ian. Its almost typically same for most of us.

Apart from the usual late waking up, long breakfasts, Lan Gaming and nonsensical time passes in the hostel which i would have rather bugged you with or you would have guessed, its something i always wonder on.

Whenever i come out of the hostel.. Whenever my classes get over.. Whenever one comes from some outside work.. or even when really alone and bored, There is always a quantum of solace you find in CANTEEN.

Its not that great in architecture and wouldn’t account for luxury or even facilties. But the menu it caters and the quality are both A1. The room is always full of energy as far as i have seen.

As i pass through the entrance and into the room, all can see me (not saying i am interstin or a celebrity.. People dnt give a damn wat i do! ). And then we have a big open veranda type platform with few tables and floor to sit in groups. Its like there’s always a space and place for all to fit in. Peace and privacy are two terms you don’t generally relate to.

Till now its been very special for me. My first ‘’so called” ragging sessions were there. My group meets were there. My friend group talks and all bakarisms there, Eating out with no ‘sharm’ and with full enthusiasm, shouting and cursing on the top of the bloody voice have been a sort of flavour of it.

Whatever you do… You never really sort of ignore the buzzing and lively Canteen… Even if you say we don’t have any other proper place to hangout (which is true actually!) or that all kind of public comes over, Its got to be among the best canteen’s compared to many reputed colleges. Or even if it isn’t it still remains and hope it will close to my heart.

ROCK ON !!! ~~It Shd’ve.. It Did.. It Will..~~

Sitting at the edge of the seat in the dark theatre hall, in a ticket bought for 70 bucks, and ofcourse all the blood sucking, Hooligan but best mates together. The perfect ambience for the movie ‘Rock On !!’. :)

As and when Farhan a.k.a Aditya came on the stage, it was as if Marcus Aurillies entered the Battlefield in the movie Gladiator. It was one sort of huge cheer when the songs came on. He is decribed as a very creative Poet and i bet he was. The Lyrics of the songs haven’t been heard anywhere anytime in the Indian Film History atleast !!

rock on ..

rock on ..

Then came Prachi Desai.. She was ”AAAAWEEE”. One of the most spell bounding faces i have seen. She depicts a very innocent and beautiful wife with a Wonderful smile. It definitely makes every youngster think about his future wife or present or past love. (And ofcourse the fact that she’s from Surat, my present home city ;) )

Arjun Rampal a.k.a Joseph Mascarenus. He is an awesome Rockstar in the movie on the stage and an Iceberg of a man off it. A complete familyman with values to fight for and a completely naive sense of marketing. He is a person who gets nostalgic many times and brings in the element of sentiments into it. Though not as cool and relatable to our genX (And nt a fav of my frndz as well.. ) Bt did a gr8 job.. Best acting by far !!!

K.D , Rob and Debi are too captivating with their cameos. I particularly Liked K.D’s character who is so Fun loving and cool that he completely makes a very tense situation damn funny! Rob on the other hand keeps one on the edge of thoughts. His act is commendable.

You just don’t seem to get over the Electronic Guitars.. the dressing.. the house interiors.. Farhan’s poetry.. Arjun’s Simplicity.. K.D’s nature.. Prachi’s Sublime beauty and ofcourse the NOSTALGIA..

In short i felt DCH has got a rival !!! Brings out all the nostalgic friendship moments.. If not that, it does make you feel, “Yaar..I would really do that one day !!! “. Though behind dch, its absolutely worth watching twice or even thrice for freaks and music maniacs.. (Including me!! ).
